Duo Killed In Double Fatal Maryland Shooting Identified By Police

A deadly shooting rocked the quiet town of Forest Heights Tuesday evening, leaving two young men dead, police say.

The victims, 24-year-old Brian Freeman of Forest Heights and 21-year-old District resident Sakou Mathis, were identified Wednesday by the Prince George's County Police Department.

Officers with the Forest Heights Police Department responded to the 100 block of Seneca Drive at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Dec. 17, where both men were found outside suffering from gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, officials said.

The Prince George’s County Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine what led to the shooting.
